How to Get Water Stains Out of Suede Shoes

Wondering how to save your suede shoes? Here are ways on how to get water stains out of suede shoes.
Suede shoes are a really classy shoe, dare we say, classier than the leather shoe? It’s material is what makes it so iconic, but also it’s what makes it so hard to maintain. The suede material is a very soft material that attracts all kinds of dirt, and water stains are something that can’t just be wiped off. Here are some steps on how to get water stains out of suede shoes, as fast as possible.

What you need is: Dry and soft cloths, a small bowl, a soft-bristled shoe brush, a clean sponge or water absorbent cloth or towel, some shoe stretchers or newspaper by choice, and if you have any Suede protector spray, it’s time to use it.
Start the clean up process by wiping off the dirt from your shoes with the soft dry cloths. If there is mud on your shoes, that wait for the mud to harden so that you can brush it off later on, otherwise the mud will spread onto the rest of your suede shoes, and that’s the last thing you want.
Fill a bowl with some warm water, and damp the bristles of the soft shoe brush. Now it’s time to slightly dampen the entire shoe by using the brush. Make sure every portion is covered.
Now, use a soft sponge or water absorbent cloth or towel to dab every portion of the shoe that you dampened before. This is to get rid of any excess water.
Put the stretchers or a balled-up newspaper and keep those in the shoes for about 24 hours, so that the shoe doesn’t loose its shape while drying. Warning: Do not expose your shoes to direct sunlight or very high temperatures.

After the drying process is over, brush the shoes with a dry shoe brush, remembering to brush in only one direction. And after you brush them, if you have any Suede protector spray, sprits some onto the shoe.
And this is how to get water stains out of suede shoes, or any kind of stain in that matter. By following these simple steps you will get your favorite pair of suede shoes looking spotless in a day’s time. If you have a lot of suede shoes, then Suede protector spray might be a necessity that you need to purchase.
